Sex & the City paved the way for Women to enjoy Cannabis & Sex.
It’s hard to believe that it has been almost 24 years since the first episode of the iconic series Sex & the City, from 1998 to 2004 there were countless girl’s nights spent watching these smart, ambitious, and sexy women meet for brunch to chat about their one-night stands, romantic interests and desires for companionship or just more hot sex. Whether you thought of yourself as a Carrie or a Miranda, watching the show empowered you to open up about what actually got you off in the sack and even sometimes the awkwardness that occurs in the bedroom or wherever the shag happens on that night. Also, let us not forget the episode where Berger breaks up with Carrie using a post-it note and Samantha saves the night with a fresh joint, normalizing a fun sesh between two besties. While we can go on and on about this revolutionary show, we don’t want to keep you waiting too much longer to learn how you can feel like a “Samantha” any day even if you’re more of a “Charlotte”.
To kick off this blog here is a fun Sex and the City montage compiled by High Society Mama
Tantalizing CBD Cocktails & Sweet Nibbles
Last week we opened the bar with our series “CBD Mocktails 101”. The recipes featured by Sailene Ossman from her book CBD Cocktails were the bomb, this week we’re helping you kick off a blissful night of sex with a new tantalizing CBD cocktail recipe inspired by the Shoe Queen herself. A sleek Cosmopolitan was likely one of the most ordered cocktails in the early 2000s by women who couldn’t get enough of Sex & the City. We’ve recreated it sans alcohol swapping out the vodka with our citrus berry-flavored Chill, CBD + Mushroom tincture, and double dosing it with this cannabis-infused sugar recipe by @kelsdashofflower, this mocktail is sure to get your juices flowing.
Press the martini glass in infused sugar to coat the rim. Place cranberry juice, lime, orange juice, and Chill CBD Tincture in a cocktail shaker or similar (a mason jar works great!). Add plenty of ice and shake. Pour into a martini glass. Add a splash of sparkling water and serve.
Cannabis-Infused Caramel Sauce (Dairy Free, Vegan, and Paleo Friendly)
Infusing sweets for your sweetheart can be the icing on the cake or dare we say the caramel sauce on the 🍆. Oops! Did we get a little too candid? Wherever you decide to put this cannabis-infused caramel sauce be careful because it is fully loaded with cannabinoids. This recipe came to us from Corinne at Wake + Bake, the absolute best site for all your cannabis recipe needs. Be sure to read the entire blog post to get suggestions on dosing with this delectable sauce so your night of bliss doesn’t become a flop (if you know what we mean).
How to make cannabis infused caramel sauce:
In a medium saucepan:
- ½ cup Coconut sugar
- 1 – 14 oz can Full Fat Coconut Milk
- Place this pot over medium heat. Bring to a simmer. This may take some time, depending on your stove, but stay there and keep stirring every couple of minutes.
- Once the saucepan with the sugar begins to bubble, continue to stir the bottom and scrape the sides down.
- Allow caramel to bubble while stirring regularly for 15-25 minutes depending on how thick you would like your sauce to be. Remember it will thicken as it cools.
- Remove the pot from the heat. Allow it to cool to see if it’s the consistency you’re looking for. If you’d like it to be thicker, put it back on the heat and give it a little more time.
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 tsp Cannabis-infused coconut oil
- Add a sprinkle of salt (optional)
- Whisk a few times as the sauce continues to cool to make sure the oil doesn’t separate. Once cool, scrape the contents of the pot into a heat safe jar.

CBD Strains for Better Sex & Intimacy
Based on Van der Pop’s survey stats, 6.4 million women across North America are curious about how cannabis can enhance their sex life. What @highsocietymama gets asked often is can CBD be used for arousal? The answer to that is YES consuming cannabis products before sex can greatly improve the experience but the specifics of how is like a 4-layer cake. Allow us to take you bite by bite!
- Gelato: for a nice body buzz that gives you a sense of peace and well-being while also squashing any pain that you may have down there. We have heard from our community members that suffer from endometriosis and/or fibroids that this strain has been beneficial to relieve the discomfort from sexual intercourse. You can also infuse it into an oil to create your own best CBD lubricant.
- Strains high in the terpene, limonene, these include Bubba Kush, Wedding Cake, and Rocket Fuel. Limonene actually offsets the anxiety THC can cause and increases sex drive while driving up levels of feel-good hormones like serotonin and dopamine. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter associated with happiness and feelings of wellbeing and dopamine is released by the brain when we eat something luscious or when we’re making love, it also helps to regulate emotional responses which could lead to a greater connection with your partner.
- Grand Daddy Purple: This Indica dominant bud can treat men and women to a whole-body buzz, melting away insecurities & increasing your imagination. It also has the ability to decrease the pain that could be associated with a well-endowed partner or your regular “I’ve had a long day but still want to get laid pain”. Then after an unforgettable night, this strain allows you to drift off into a satisfied dreamland.
- Boax Spectrum: this strain quiets that “mommy monkey brain”! It's a gentle flower that both stimulates and relaxes, easing you into a state of slow ecstasy with your partner. Boax helps you to calm our minds, relax our body and minimize the chatter so we can focus on the task at hand. Great news is that Boax Spectrum is available in our popular: Ready to Roll and Hemp Smokes as well.

Warming Sensual CBD Infused Massage Oil
With new technologies we currently have various options for infusing oils, the simple but slower method would be to place all ingredients in a jar covering all the herbs, shake and allow to sit a week to 6 weeks, shaking regularly. When you’re ready to decant place a piece of cheesecloth over a fine-mesh sieve, place sieve over a container, and pour in contents of the jar, pulling up and squeezing cheesecloth to extract all the oil from the plant materials. You can also accomplish this a much faster with the Ardent FX machine, follow the link to see how this is done and use code SOCIETY to save $60 on a new device.

Ratios for Intimacy
CBD & THC are incredible tools to help us connect with ourselves and our partners, however, it is important to be thoughtful and try a balanced approach to consuming, this typically looks like a 1:1 ratio of CBD to THC, however for some it may be no THC at all or a little bit less or more. While THC has the ability to enhance bodily sensations making intimacy with your partner more pleasurable a bit too much may send you in the opposite direction causing anxiety & a racing heart. This is not what anyone wants when they are down to their panties!! However, if this does happen, take a deep breath, remember it will pass, and inhale a bit of CBD flower only. The cannabinoid CBD can offset the cannabinoid THC bringing us back into balance. We’re hoping your Valentine’s night is amazing, whether you’re getting frisky with your partner or even alone!
Additional JUST FOR MOMS Section on Cannabis & Sex from High Society Mama:
As a MOTHER and as a WOMAN, we evolve with age and experience. Our hormones change from pregnancy to breastfeeding and evolve as we get older, combined with how our external environment affects our hormones, as well! As our kids get older our life looks different than when they were babies. Our sleep patterns change along with the age of our kids, so when I once CRAVED a full night’s sleep it has now been replaced with the need for connection with my husband.
We are a walking, talking, beautiful chaos of thoughts and emotions and we are very fortunate to have a plant that helps us to calm those thoughts and take charge of our emotional state in a way that we want it to show through. For me, cannabis helps me to shine with love, compassion, empathy and patience.
When we dig into it, cannabis helps many women with SLEEP in the SAME way it helps women to reach an ORGASM!!! The plant helps us to calm our minds, relax our body and minimize the chatter so we can focus on the task at hand (whether it is getting to sleep or having an orgasm).
Take a peek at this REEL by High Society Mama that is a visual representation of what we are talking about here!
I’m not a sexpert, by any means. I only speak from personal experience & survey data I’ve read, but it appears women are experimenting with cannabis & sex with VERY positive results!
For ME, too much THC can put me even MORE in my head. However, I find that a large amount of CBD (I smoke SOCIETY Strain: Boax Spectrum, to shut up my monkey🙊 brain🧠) actually HELPS to quiet my never ending to do list. When I pair CBD flower with a LITTLE bit of THC, it enhances feelings in my body, culminating into a delicious orgasmic experience. Orgasms run deeper and shortens the TIME to reach the big O!
I KNOW how hard it is to let go of the “Mommy Monkey Brain” that is constantly running. But, the result from one INCREDIBLE sexual encounter, can fuel us by enhancing our connection with our partner and also giving us that moment of bliss where it is the only time (other than sleeping) that our brain slows down and we can be present in the moment. (Meditation is also wonderful for this, but I can’t speak from experience on that subject 😬 so I‘ll stick to my orgasms)
Mom life is hard. There are a lot of changes that happen to our body & mind when we do the morphing into motherhood! We have to take our sex life back & learn a new way to dance with it as a MOM!
Instead of dreading sex or feeling obligated to fulfill on it, as if IT is a past due bill, THIS is a new opening for loving your body & connecting with your partner.
Cannabis and even CBD, is not a one size fits all magic green pill for falling in love with sex again. It takes practice, experimentation & possibly some expanding of boundaries.
Don't forget to ask your partner for the RIGHT kind of flowers this Valentine's Day and also a little hint, for the hubby that snoops down this way...
This reversible plant magic ROBE makes a great gift for a plant lover!
